Ellev8 Design is my studio. It builds websites and back-office tools for owners who don't have time to run a project, then looks after them once they're live. The work runs on an agent system I designed, with me at the two decisions that can't be undone: the direction and what ships. How that works is in the Ellev8 case study.
A site, or the back-office tool behind the business
Brand, site map, copy and the site itself, phone first. Or the internal tool that replaces a pile of spreadsheets and email. The first client, Subsurface Water Storage, went from brand to live site in about three weeks.
Every account, change and undo step is written down and handed over
The check-up most sites never get after launch
Each month the studio checks the site's pages, code, security and broken links, then sends a plain report. I read it first and approve each fix one by one. On the first check of Holly Hills Bible Church's site, security advisories went from 46 to 0, 103 old addresses were redirected, and five fixes were live in about a day.
Nothing changes on a live site without my sign-off
Research, planning, writing, building and review run through 11 agents, each with one job and a bar it has to clear. Reviewers that never built the work check it before I see it. Two decisions stay mine on every engagement: which direction to take and what ships. The org design, the runs so far and what went wrong along the way are in I built a studio out of agents.
